I don't think we need anymore summary of my meal expenses. I am sure you have a good idea of how the prices are like on the EBC route.
26092013 - Day 13 in Nepal. Day 12 of our EBC Trek. The grand finale. The last day. The day we bid farewell to Khumbu region. Actually, it is Khumbu region where the EBC trek lies. Today, we fly back to Kathmandu. I have French Toast and my usual glass of tea. It was 5.30am. We are scheduled for the 7am flight. We have sufficient time because the airport is just 15 minutes walk away from the lodge. At 6am, we leave the lodge and started our walk. We have a great view of the mountains before the mist covered it up.
It was a good day to fly.
The first plane appears on the runway at 6.40am. Check out how the plane lands and go up the 20 degrees slope. How smoothly the pilot makes a U-turn and parks the plane.
In the plane, I finally got to snap a photo of how the pilots took off for landing. Both pilots were holding the top thing as the plane moves on the runway, and lets go after the plane is off the runway.
*Whee* *Up up and away we go*
My adventure on EBC has finally come to an end. I can't believe I managed to make my dream come true. It is almost every trekker's dream to step on to Everest Base Camp. Well, maybe every trekker dream is possibly to stand on the summit of Mount Everest. But this is the nearest we can get considering the short period of time and limited finances. To top it off, today is my birthday too. It was definitely a great ending to kiss my 20s goodbye. If you asked me 10 years back when I was in college on how would I have celebrated my birthday when I reach my 30 years of age, this would definitely not be remotely close to any plans I had.
If you have not been here, I hope my posts inspire you to go try it out. It is not impossible. If you have the dream, go for it. All you need to have is determination, perseverance, not just for the trek, but to make the first move to find an agent, save some money, and exercise a bit. If you have been to EBC, I am very sure you can relate to my stories. It sure brings back good memories. Time to find my next adventure.
If you happen to randomly read this entry, read from my first post - Preparations on Everest Base Camp. If you want to read about my first day in Nepal, then read the second post - Kathmandu, I am here again!
