My Story
Namche Bazaar was so misty this morning. Bad timing for those who goes up to Mount Kala Patthar today. You can't see Mount Everest. Also anyone who treks can't see much view of the mountains. At 8am, we bid farewell to Namche and head off for Lukla.
In Phakding where we had our lunch, I saw a poster of another missing person. It is dangerous to trek alone. But you can take the risk. There are trekkers who managed alone. It depends, I suppose.
At 3.50pm, we finally see the entrance to Lukla. Previously, we took 2 days to go from Lukla to Namche Bazaar. Now, we just take 7 hours to trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla. Well, we did take 2 days because we were taking the flight, and did not want to tire ourselves to walk too far. Plus, going back has more descending routes. When we arrived in Lukla, it was so misty. Look at the difference on the day we arrived in Lukla. We could see the surrounding mountains. Today, it looks cold and bleak.
In Lukla, we stayed in the same resort we had our breakfast on the day we arrived in Lukla. As soon as we sat down in the dining room, we called for a glass of hot lemon with honey. I was coughing terribly by now. Today, I finally got to take a bath! After 11 days! And I did not have to use a sleeping bag that night. We had dinner with our guide and porters. My sister and I shared the steamed momo and the resort's pizza specialty which basically has the ingredients of cheese, egg, mushroom and tomato.
At 10am, we reached the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. On Day 2 we arrived in Sagarmatha National Park, you would not believe that we took 4 hours when we trekked from the National Park to Namche. Today, it took us 2 hours only! Going downwards is definitely faster. On the day we arrived which was 16.09.2013, there was no one except us. Look at today. It is filled with trekkers! My guide told me that this is not many and during the peak season, one may have to wait for 2 hours to be registered! I keep telling myself that I am so fortunate to trek during our period - with the clear view of mountains, less trekkers, rains after we reached the destination, and definitely more space for us.

Tonight, we stayed up until 9pm. We listened to some Nepalese songs. It was great to be back on lower grounds.
