Redang Island, I see you!
Redang Island, such pristine crystalline waters you have!
Redang Island, such blue cloudless skies that ceilings you!
Redang Island, such white sand you seem to possess!
Redang Island, you are almost within my reach!
I reached Redang Island, hopped off the boat, stumbled a bit on the pier, posed with the scenery before taking my first step on the ... oh my goodness .. so fine soft sand.
A tractor from Redang Holiday Resort came to collect all the guests' luggages! Hilarious! Well, it was about a 100m walk to the resort.
As we approached closer to the resort, the sand became coarse. There were some beach chairs lined up in front of the resort facing the sea. I can't wait to laze there when the sun is not scorching on my back.
Upon checking in, we were given a glass of orange drink each. Look at the itinerary for the the usual 3-day, 2-night package. Well, we will miss out on 2 snorkelling trips. So, we are only headed for the 2nd one after lunch. We went to our rooms, and it was very simple. There was no fan.. Who needs fan when you live by the beach! The room was big enough for 4 persons!
Right after putting our luggages and changing into my swimsuit layered with a white top, I was off to snap photos with some bubbles! You will be seeing lots of scenic photos of the 2-colour sea, the rocks, the sand, and maybe some of me too!
Dead corals at the beach.
We saw a group that just came back from their morning snorkelling trip. It was time for lunch! Buffet lunch starts at 12.30pm. It was simple but very nutritious - rice, green vegetables, egg, chicken, squid, chilli paste, and a glass of cold orange juice!
After lunch, we had time to laze a bit before our snorkelling trip at 2.30pm. There was another part of the restaurant which seems to be unoccupied, and has a good view of the beach. It was not too hot despite covered by a netting. It looks like a fisherman's net. It was a gorgeous view staring into the endless sea.
At 2.30pm, we registered for our snorkelling trip at the reception hut. The rate was independent from the RM250 individual package. It was another RM30 per person to rent the snorkelling gear. Now, that would have been a worthwhile price to pay if I bought the 3-days, 2-nights package, because that would be 3 snorkelling trips! But right now, I am going for ONE only! Oh well. I am not lamenting because being in Redang Island is the happiest thing for me.
And off we go to our snorkelling spot. It was about a 10 minutes' boat ride.
There was another boat from the same resort. And here we stop!
The snorkelling trip was fun! One of the staff in the Resort actually swam with me, and brought me to the nice spots to look at the corals. Some of the corals were within my reach, and I could actually touch them! I touched a coral and it closed! I could actually stand on some of them too! They were so near to the surface! I am so lucky to always meet nice people on my trips!
We were at the snorkelling spot for an hour, and it was time to head back to the resort. I was crossing and uncrossing my legs as we headed back! When I touched the pier, I ran back to the nearest loo! Not the sea, mind you!
