The Story
25012025: We called for a Grab taxi to bring us to Changi Point Ferry Terminal so that we can get there in the morning as it would take too long with the public transport and it will be too hot in the afternoon. At the jetty, the boat needs to have between 9-12 passengers before the boat can leave. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the island. We arrived on the island at 9.30am and departed at 1.30pm
I made a mistake of renting bicycles from the first bicycle shop. We saw more bicycle shops as we went further in and there were modern bicycles. It is really necessary for a bicycle! One can walk on the island but you will not be able to go far and the heat is overwhelming.
Thankfully, there was a stall selling coconuts! We had to stop to have a cold coconut drink. It was a mother and daughter manning the stall.
Taking a break on the island to use the toilet.
We were on the island for 4 hours and took the boat back to have lunch on the main island. We waited for about 30 minutes for the boat get filled up so that the boat can depart.
In the evening, we visited the Safari Night! It was my first time experiencing a safari night. Really recommended activity. There were so many people queueing up for the bus that took us to Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Singapore Zoo and Safari Night Park are located in the wildlife reserve. We had the 8.15pm entrance tickets. There are various times for one to choose to enter. On hindsight, I should have gotten earlier times as we could have taken an earlier tram ride around the park and explored more grounds. One can take the tram as many times as one wish but there is a long queue.
The tram brought us around the park along the designated paths. We are not allowed to take photos with flashlights to not scare the animals. We saw zebras, elephants, lions, deers, rhinoceros, tapir and so many! Our cameras could not take clear photos and in the end, we decided to just enjoy the tram ride.

After the tram ride, we could walk freely on the designated paths. We went to the enclosed area for lions.
There are also small animals in an enclosed area. This is an armadillo. It is so cute. It ran away when it saw people at the glass and we ran to the other side to see the armadillo. It was running back and forth.
We booked seats for the performance. One can do that upon arriving at the park. We did that immediately because the seats were taken up quickly.
We managed to catch the bus back to our hotel. We reached back slightly after midnight and it was so great that public transportation is still reliable at such late hours!
I was really happy we chose this day to do the Safari Night because it rained heavily the next evening and the animals would have taken shelter from the rain. We were lucky!
