The Story

030915: The night before, Prof Sweet Tooth parked in an open field. Look at how big the open field is. The morning sun was glorious and beautiful! I love the sun! I was standing there to absorb the sunrays. And across the road was another open field. We continued our drive towards Paris and reached our destination - Indigo Paris located in Bois de Boulogne, by 10am.

My friend had expressed his greatest intention to camp in Bois de Boulogne in Paris. Bois de Boulogne is a large public park (second largest public park in Paris) located along the western edge of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, near the suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt and Neuilly-sur-Seine. When they described it as large, it is truly large! My friend wanted to camp in Bois de Boulogne because he read Asterix comics and this garden is mentioned in the comics. I have read Asterix comics but I don't remember a Bois de Boulogne. So, I looked up camping in Bois de Boulogne and found there is a camping ground managed by Indigo Paris! I booked a camping pitch for 2 nights but we did not manage to reach in time for the 1st night as we were not even close to the venue by midnight and the gate closes by 1am. Plus, my friend was so tired, and we rather not take the risk of him to keep driving.

The Asterix Comic that inspired him.

It was confusing to find the route to Indigo Paris but my friend has a superb sense of direction. I am amazed at how he can look at the map or the GPS and points to the intended road he wants to go on to. And the next thing I know, we are on that intended road while I am still struggling to identify that on the map. The GPS does not direct us properly as how we wished to. So after an hour driving, we found the entrance to Indigo Paris. I did the checking in and was given a number for our camp pitch and the password to lift the boom gate for us to drive in. In Indigo Paris, there is a restaurant, and grocery store (of course, things in the grocery store is slightly expensive) and a very clean toilet. I am happy when I see clean toilets. The camping ground is huge and very well maintained. There is a road to drive in for cars and camper vans. I love all the shady huge trees around us and with the sun rays, the camping ground is awesome! I was very pleased with my accommodation selection!

Our camp pitch is number 101. Each camping pitch is separated by a row of hedges that was very neatly trimmed! Prof Sweet Tooth parked his car and we set up the tent. And the first thing we did after that was to shower! There is hot water in the shower and there are hair dryers too! I was so happy! While I was in the toilet building (it is a small building with a number of shower and toilet stalls), there was a staff cleaning the place. Hence, the reason why the toilet is so clean. One should always be appreciative of the people who clean the place. I took this chance to wash my clothes too. There is a designated place to wash your clothes outside the toilet building.

Unpacking done. Cleaning up done. Time to explore Paris by foot!
