I was so hungry after my morning visits to the beach. Plus, I was the driver. So, next stop was Pasar Payang = Payang Market. I read that this market is a must-go because it sells lots of keropok or in English, it is known as dried shrimp / fish crackers. So, the darker ones have more fish ingredient in it compared to the lighter ones.
Then, we had lunch in the market too. It was very filling! I had glutinous rice with dishes of chicken, egg and raw vegetable. Lesson learnt - When you are too hungry, don't put too much food on the plate.
Right after lunch, it was time to visit the Crystal Mosque, the last must-visit place in Terengganu... well, from what I have researched on. It must be amazing to have a mosque that looks like a crystal. But actually, it is a mosque with glass windows that somehow its reflection make it look like a crystal!
Next up was to find the resort we are staying in - Sutra Beach Resort! So, it was relying on Google Map now! We crossed a bridge, and saw this lovely view. I actually stopped the car and thankfully, there were no cars due to the public holiday! I had to switch on the hazardous lights!! I forced my friend to get out of the car and snapped the excellent view.
The route we used towards the resort was the coastal route, and the gorgeous view of the beach lined with coconut trees was just so surreal. I stopped the car at a random spot, and walked towards the beach. It was hot, but the breeze made the stop worthwhile.
We stopped at Redang Island Jetty. Here is where the plans go different than expected. Initially, we thought we could go to Redang Island in the morning and return the same day itself in the evening. But it turns out there were only 2 boats to Redang Island - 9am and 11am! I was so shocked! How could such a famous island have only 2 timings in a day? And if we wanted to return in the evening, we could share a boat with anyone who has chartered a boat, and probably pay a small fee depending on your negotiation skills. Or you could charter your own boat for RM500! Oh goodness... So, we asked one of the booth operators if there were any accommodation available in the island. There were many booth operators at the Jetty who has liaisons with different resort owners. The one we asked had a room in Redang Holiday for RM250 per pax - the package included the boat ride to and fro from the island, lunch upon arrival, tea after snorkelling, dinner and the next day breakfast. It was for 2 days 1 night. We agreed to the price, and it's not like we had much of a choice either. So, that was for the next day arrangement.
The Jetty was just about 7 minutes' ride to Sutra Beach Resort. The room we booked was facing the beach! Excellent! It costs RM260 which means it is RM130 per pax and it includes breakfast. The Resort has its own swimming pool too. Look at the lovely view of the Resort, the beach and the gorgeous skies.
The sun is setting soon.
I bought Mr Bubble Man from Payang Market. I was blowing bubbles towards the skies, and tried to get the best shot as possible of the bubbles against the skies.
If the Peninsular has such gorgeous view, I could only wonder how amazing Redang Island will be. Tomorrow we shall see!
