There is a big kea statue in the middle of the town. The kea birds are soon to be extinct because they love to land on the back of the sheep to eat its fat. So, farmers shoot the birds to save the sheep.
On the way to Queenstown, we stopped at a random farm. We couldn't find the owner. So, we snapped photos with the animals. Hehe!
This goat nibbled on my scarf, and his horns got stuck in the fence. So, had to help the goat to unstuck his horns.
We stopped at a sheep farm too, hoping to pet some of them. But they all showed their behinds as soon as they saw us. *sad*
Saw a pottery farm and thought it will be exciting to see some pottery! But turns out no pottery because it was too cold. But I did see some interesting 'alien' quotes. We quickly left the place.
Furry cows. :-)
You must think what is so nice about this photo. But seriously when you are there, you will fall in love with New Zealand's nature. I love how the trees lined up along the road.
We stopped for lunch at Kingston. Another must-stop place based on the Travel Book. The Kingston Flyer Vintage Steam Train has cobwebs. Our lunch was against the background of Lake Wakatipu.
As you can see, the roads are winding towards Queenstown.
And with a driving speed of 100km/hour, we reached Queenstown. YHA Queenstown has an amazing view of facing the lake! After checking into the YHA, we walked around the town. Went into malls and shops. Bought lots of souvenirs. Snapped a million of photos. Absorb the amazing view of the sunset. If you think the photos are gorgeous, then you have to see the real thing.
We did not do any adventurous activities in Queenstown. Queenstown is famous for all sorts of activities like bungee jumping, and the one where you drop from the helicopter.. erm.. anyway, I did not do any of those because of the limited budget.
