Oceania : Part 11 - Punakaiki to Christchurch

11092010 - We were going to see the Pancake Rocks in Punakaiki. Today, we were headed back to Christchurch. Back where we started. It was nice to note that our hostel was in a mini jungle. It's so cooling. Though it was a bit scary at night. But there is nothing to fear! I love this hostel the best. Look at the interior of the house. :-)

There were supposed to be blowholes, but we came at the wrong timing, and we had to leave to start our drive. The rocks really looked like pancakes. :-)

On the way back to Christchurch, we stopped at Lake Pearson. And we saw people fishing! It's so cold, and I can't believe they can actually stand the chill standing in the lake!! The perseverance!

Saw arts of nature at Castle Hill which were rocks that reminded me of Stonehenge Rocks.

We reached YHA Christchurch. Some of the roads were still closed due to the after-shock of the earthquake. We returned the car. Then, it was a short walk around the little town. We walked back to the hostel and saw people playing chess! How cool is that! To play on the streets!!  And that night, we had Speight's beer. New Zealand's local beer! Taste like a usual beer.
