On 03.09.2010 - We are flying to New Zealand today in the evening. Since we have time to spare in the morning, we decided to visit the famous Queen Victoria Market. In the morning, we toasted our own bread and drank milk we bought from the store. No more buying breakfast from YHA. The milk is so fresh in both Aussie and New Zealand!! I am not surprised if the local's skin is so smooth!
This is how the YHA looks like. Very comfortable, yes?
The Internet Room. Internet package is under Global Gossip. 1 hour = $4.
The YHA is located in a nice little neighbourhood. I feel safe walking here.
And after breakfast, it was a walk to the Market. If you have been reading my posts, you would know my friends and I are fans of walking. :-)
The market is so clean and dry!
The must-have American Doughnuts. It is delicious having it piping-hot straight from the oven.
We also did some wine tasting. I love the market. They are so many types of things for sale. Well, of course, the market is huge enough for that!
We stopped at the restaurant for lunch. Well, I won't call it a restaurant because they consist of many stalls. But they do not look like stalls. More like partitioned roofed stalls? Haha! In Malaysia, our stalls version of a roof is an umbrella! A huge umbrella! We bought 2 pies and strawberries for lunch.
We went back to the hostel and this is the amount of nuts we bought. Consist of cashew nuts, macedamian nuts, almonds and flavoured nuts. Well, they did said nuts are famous in Aussie. Having that mindset, one tend to overindulge in spending.
The hostel has supposedly, the best hostel rooftop in Melbourne. So, we went to check it out.
I saw a park and decided to go there. It was such a beauty with soil carpeted by fallen leaves and dead wood. All I wanted to do was dance with the leaves and the breeze.
Our taxi came at 2.30pm to drive us to the airport. At the airport. we thought of using the trolley to carry our heavy luggages but one has to pay AUD4 per trolley! This was my first time experiencing that in an airport! So, we chose to carry our heavy luggages.
And here we are on board the Jetstar, headed to our main holiday destination - New Zealand (Aotorea in Maori). Looked at the menu and realised AirAsia is cheaper.
