Bandung : Part 1 - Reached!

After visiting Bali (not for a honeymoon) in May 2010, I made plans with my friends to go to Bandung. But this time, a shopping trip! Not trekking. No sweat. No muscle aching. No dead toes at the end of the climb. Well, more like bleeding bank accounts!

It was a 3-day, 2-night trip. That is me, finally revealed! Taking the flight to Bandung. With 5 other friends. The more, the merrier, and not to forget, the cheaper. :-)

After a two-hour flight, we reached Bandung. That is the airport. Small. Bandung is one-hour later than Malaysia. We reached at 9.30pm, and it was 10.30pm in Malaysia. Not much of a difference to me.

Their tiny little airport. Yeah, I am emphasizing how small it is! Actually, photos are not allowed. But then again, when you are skillful, you can't get caught. Haha!

Here is our guide for the night. We booked a Pak Tarmizi's transportation service (for Rp1 million = RM360) for the 4 days trip. This is his colleague. I did a survey between 2 people, and this one is much cheaper. Here is his number : +6281320028484. It is so exciting to see your name on a piece of paper in the airport!

We were quite hungry, having not eaten anything since lunch. So, the guide brought us to a local food eatery - Restoran Sederhana for one of the local food - Padang food.

This is a "pay-what-you-select-and-eat" concept from the array of dishes they served on the table.

One third of the dishes were beef, and we told the waiter to bring more chicken instead. This is the lung of a cow. It's crunchy and has a slight taste of ikan bilis (anchovies).

The tasty chilli. Not hot at all.

This is the food that we didn't touch.

The food that we touched.

The waiter was checking on the dishes eaten to charge us. It is sort of like a Japanese meal where the plates go on a small conveyor belt, and the food is charged based on the colour of the plates selected from the conveyor. Slight difference here is there is no colour on the plates.

That is the bill for the day. Rp174,350 = RM70.

The guide brought us to our hotel. That is my next post!
