Bali : Part 4 - Less Torturous Haven

The next day, we were awake early to start our journey. That is actually our makeshift toilet. Go in, zip up, dig the ground a bit, relief yourself, cover the ground again. Quite an interesting experience.

As we walk downhill, we heard an eruption. Gunung Baru has erupted. This happen quite a number of times in a day.

After 2 hours of journey, we reached the lake. Anak Segara Lake. It was a scenic view. Quiet and a moment to rest and enjoy the view.

There were campers along the lake. It is a common spot to camp here. Plus people do fish too!

While waiting for our lunch to be prepared, one of the porters brought us to a nearby Hot Spring where we cleaned ourselves a bit. From the day we started our hike till today, we have not taken a bath. All we did was wiped ourselves using Wet Wipes. Thank God for Wet Wipes! I can't imagine bathing there. It was so cold!

After lunch, we were back on the trek upwards, where we reached before darkness falls. This is the campsite before we trek to the peak the next morning. This was 2,640m above sea level, just 1,100m from the peak.

The view from the campsite.

It was so peaceful looking out to the view. It was chilly too. I met another trekker too that was from New Zealand. He didn't think the weather was too cold. It was quite alright to him. Yeah, the benefits of coming from a 4-season country.

That night, we slept early, right after dinner. Because the next morning, we had to be awake by 1.30am.
