Bali : Part 2 - Not so love haven

The next morning, we were off to the market. My friend opines that visiting the market is the next best thing to learning the culture and lifestyle of the locals. And very right she was. From then on, I always visit the market in a new place, to understand their lives better.

Avocados in abundance. A very healthy fruit. It lowers the cholesterol. We drank it at every opportunity we had in Bali.

After the market visit, we walked to Kuta Beach. This is one of the famous beaches in Bali. There were not many visitors because it was still early.

The memorial erected for the bombing victims.

This is our hired car in Bali. The driver brought us from the airport to the hotel, and today he is sending us to the jetty for us to catch the ferry to Lombok Island.

Our four ferry tickets.

And off we go, sailing away for 5 hours to the Island. Actually, it's possible to fly to Lombok Island, but being budget and loyal travellers of Air Asia, we only flew to Bali, and took the ferry.

And being inquisitive, I was running around the ferry, talking to the captain. The next 30 minutes, I was slumped against the toilet door of the ferry, vomiting out my food. I visited the toilet 5 times within that 5 hours.

Finally, we reached the Island. There were many taxis at the jetty calling out to passengers. We took a taxi to our hotel. On the way, we saw a local wedding in procession.

Upon reaching our hotel (Dharmarie Beach & Resort which cost USD35 per night for a standard twin room. I shared with a friend, hence costing me USD17.50 per night), we walked to the nearest restaurant. And had our dinner.

The must-have avocado drink.

Meals for the four of us. I was not too hungry despite vomiting out everything. But I had to eat because the next day, begins our strenuous trek to Rinjani Mountains.

We went back to the hotel early, because we needed all the energy we can get for the trek tomorrow.
