Sarawak : Part 2 - Stepping into Mulu

The next day, we took the internal flight of MASWings to Mulu. It was exciting because it was the first time I sat on a plane with propellers! The flight tickets were a bit pricey.

Mulu Airport is a small airport. From the airport, we sat the van to Mulu National Park.

The Mulu National Park. It describes the Park and how it achieved its World Heritage Center status.

At the National Park, we took a boat ride which will bring us to our main entrance of our walk. Before we went to the main entrance, we went to 3 caves just for a short sight-seeing.

We stopped here to look at some caves - Wind Cave, Clearwater Cave and Lady Cave.

Our starting point - walk 8km to Camp. Thankfully, it was walking on a flat path. Because with the luggage we were carrying, it was not easy.

After almost 2 hours, we reached the final 1km.

There were cooking facilities at the Camp. If you choose not to cook, you can pay the Guides to cook for you.

At night, the Guide gave us a few words on the trek we were going to do the next day. He cautioned us to be careful, and if we cannot continue, we shall stop. Lives are more important. That made me scared. He told us that we have to reach the peak before 11am. That frightened me too. In the end, he told us just to have fun!

A scenic view of the river where the sun was setting. The river was just next to our Camp.

That night, it was so cold we could barely sleep. We slept on wooden beds and the chill seeped through our bones.
