England : Part 5 - Till we meet again!

Today was the day before I leave England.
Today was the day after the wedding.
Today was a garden lunch.

I love it.
The weather was perfect. It was sunny, sometimes, and the air was cold a bit. So, we shifted our chairs whenever there was a tiny hint of sunlight.

There was a lovely spread of food - Sandwiches, eggs, cold meat (sausage), pork pie, cucumber, nuts, strawberries and tomatoes. Plus the top part of the wedding cake. And 3 fansta-licious desserts.

English dessert that the mum made. This is Eaton Mess. There is a history behind it. About some fruits were sent in a van nearby Eaton. Somehow, the fruits got into a mess in the van with the cream. And ta-da, you get Eaton Mess! (I am not kidding!)

This is English truffle. Canned fruits at the bottom, followed by Swiss Rolls, followed by Jelly. Wait for the jelly to set in. Then put whipped cream, chocolate rice and cherries. Somehow, it seems so easy to make the dessert. :-)

While waiting for the guests to come, I sat in the garden that was filled with daisies. The mum called them weeds and said that usually it will be mowed away. *sad*

I was looking at the daisies and thought they were really pretty. So, the mum taught me how to make a daisy chain!

See, lovely weather. Lovely garden setting.

The guests. My penpal's relatives.

And that is me snacking on the dessert. Yummy. Next to me is the groom's brother.

I love her head-dress. It is made from fresh flowers. Garden weddings are simple but gorgeous.

Then, my penpal had to leave to Germany for her German wedding. I did not attend, unfortunately, due to terrible financial constraint.

That evening, I looked out at the garden of her house, and felt a tinge of sadness leaving England. I felt at home because her parents were excellent hostesses. I did not feel out of place because I could speak English, and we understood each other, although I may have sometimes spoke a bit too quick.

The next day, the parents brought me to have lunch at the pub next to the house. Had the must-have English food - fish and chips!

Then, it was time for me to leave England. How heavy the heart felt.
One day, I shall visit England again.
