24.01.2015 - I arrived at Sepilok at 10am. It was past the feeding time of the Orang Utan. There are 2 feeding times - 10am and 3pm. And without the feeding time, you cannot see much of the monkey. So, I decided to check in first and then visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC). I booked a night in a dorm at Sepilok Jungle Resort for RM30. Initially I booked for 2 nights but I cancelled the second night when I realised I could go back to Sandakan instead. I am flying back from Sandakan, and hence I need to go back to Sandakan. The minivan from Sandakan town stopped in Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre and I walked to the Resort. It was about a 200meter walk. But to me, it felt like forever because my bag is not too light and I am wearing wrong footwear. For the entire week I am in Sabah, I wore flipflops or in the local Malay language - selipar tandas. The Resort is huge. I checked in and was brought to my dorm and 2 Danish girls were already occupying the room. I said my hellos and I went to the RDC.
The toilet is located outside the dorm. But I did not use it at night. I was fast asleep.
There are lots of benches but it was occupied by ants. So, I did not sit on any.

The walk to RDC took me 20 minutes. It felt like a never ending road. I walked in the sun and in the drizzle. The same weather happened on my way back. The ticket for a Malaysian is RM7. For a Non-Malaysian, I believe is RM15. Now, I will suggest you to spend the whole day in RDC if you are a fan of birdwatching. If you are not, like me, I only went on the canopy walk, and saw the suspension bridge and walked into the Visitor Building, and took a few steps into the Plant Garden and was out in slightly more than an hour. Well, I took one hour because I wanted to catch the 3pm feeding time at Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre - the main reason I came to Sepilok. You can walk on some of the trails in RDC but I did not have the time, and once again, I am with the wrong footwear.

The suspension bridge is not accessible due to works going on.
The Visitor Building which I spent about 30 minutes. There was a time capsule planted outside the building but they did not mention what was inside the capsule.
Now, it was 12pm, and I continued my 20 minute walk back under the sun and the drizzle to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre.
