Do you know you can celebrate your stag night in a jungle? Well, I always thought stag nights are held in fancy restaurants, parties or somewhere civilised.. Haha! Well, a friend of mine was getting married and he decided to organise this trip to calm his feelings. It sounded really hilarious how he named this trip - Trip Tenangkan Perasaan. Directly translated - Trip to Calm Feelings. Marriage is sure a huge step. :-) I wonder if I will share the same sentiments? I digress.
So, on 26.05.2012, I drove to Hulu Langat heading towards Perlus Waterfalls. Before I agreed on this trip, my friend had warned me - This is a LEECH HAVEN area. *FREAKED OUT* Thank goodness I got myself a pair of polyester tights. But my feet and top is not spared from the greedy bloody leeches.
We reached at 4pm, and the estimation time of arrival was 7pm. Hopefully before it gets dark. So, with our huge bags (that carried pots, and raw food).. well, mostly was carried by the guys, we started our trail. I read in the website that the trail seem easy, a few slopes.. but not easy when you are carrying heavy bags.
In the best of mood. All smiles. Trek was still flat.
She is so cute! I was so surprised that she came so close to my lens.
The trail became slightly elevated. And everyone was exhausted. Had to lean against this fallen tree trunk.
It was 6pm, and we had another hour before it got dark. We are the blue arrow, and the destination is on the right. Can you see the waterfall icon?
The group split to two midway. I was in the front, and we stopped for the other group to catch up. My friend went to find them, and he was flashing his torchlight to show that they are alright.
After getting lost for 30 minutes and walking for about an hour plus, we finally reached our campsite at 8pm. Walking at night is interesting, especially when all the insects starts to sing. But it is scary..
We started removing all the stuff from the bags - ground sheet as a layer for us to sit and sleep on, fly sheet to be hung above our heads, the lights, the ropes, and the food.
We were having spaghetti for dinner.
All food tastes fantastic in nature. But weirdly enough, I was not hungry after the hike. Despite that, I had to eat for the energy replacement.
