Chilling in Chillings Waterfalls

Today, I am going to write about my trip to the most beautiful waterfalls in the state of Selangor - Chillings Waterfall. I went there this morning and I am telling you today immediately how it was. I know I have not completed my 'Journey to the Top' series, but I will soon! It's just that there are too many photos to post.

Anyway, we started our journey from Kuala Lumpur at 8am. We were headed for Kuala Kubu Baru, which was actually a 1.5 hours drive. Reached earlier than predicted at 9.15am, and you know you are there when you see the bridge.

Parked right after the bridge.

Walked from the parking lot towards the entrance which was actually less than a minute walk. I wore the rubber shoes - Kampung Adidas which is a very convenient pair of shoes because it dries fast, plus it costs RM8 only. Unlike the trekking shoes which costs RM300++. Anyhow, since we are crossing the river, this sort of shoes or slippers (if you are confident with your walk) is suitable.

The trail was slightly moist, and the path was flat.

The gates were locked when we reached. But we saw people inside.

We found out they climbed over the gate to get in. And so we did.

The registration counter was not open. It was 9.30am. When we came back from our trek at 1pm, the counter was open, and we were told to register with a payment of RM1. It is so funny that we registered after we came back, because isn't the point of registering is to ensure everyone comes back safely?

Toilets are available too.

The signboard shows we have to cross the river 5 times to get to the waterfall.

And one can camp here too.

We started our walk by crossing the bridge.

The view of Chillings River from the bridge.

After the bridge, the trail was slightly muddy. And when we came back, the trail was filled with water.

The second crossing through the river. Initially, I didn't like the idea of crossing the river because I dislike getting wet. I changed my mind 2 times to come to Chillings Waterfall. I am glad I came because it was a new experience for me. In fact, after I stepped out from the river, I missed the coolness of the water.

First river crossing:

Second river crossing.

Fourth river crossing. The current was quite strong for me, but I think the guys find it easy because they helped us to cross the river. My friend told me it's because I cross the river the wrong method. I should walk like a crab facing the current of the river, because it's 2 legs facing the current, and hence more stable. But I walked in a straight line. And hence, one foot forward each time.

Fifth river crossing. The water was till my waist. I am 166cm by the way. The bottom of my bag was wet.

At last, Chillings Waterfalls was at sight!

Can you spot a monkey's head? I propose this waterfall be named as Monkey's Waterfall too.

A rock where I sat to enjoy the view of the Waterfall.

There were fishes in the river. Feeding is actually prohibited, but it was so fun looking at the fishes attacking the single piece of bread.

For a Malaysian waterfall, the water was considered clear. I could even see the fishes swimming. They are quite big fishes too.

Before we left Chillings Waterfall after an hour of chilling in the water, I kissed the monkey goodbye.
