Singapore : Final - A Walk Around

The next day, tired and a bit stuffy from the non-existence air-cond in the room, we woke up early and stayed at the hall, till we were cool enough. Today's itinerary was to go to Merlion Park, Chinatown and Little India.

This is how my hostel's neighbourhood looks like. Lots of eatery.

We took the MRT to Raffles Place, and walked to Merlion Park. I wanted to show my friend the huge Merlion! And as my new tradition, I bought the ice-cream slab. But the one I wanted with bread has increased by 10cents. Yes, you may think it's cheap but it's tradition to get it for SGD$1!! So, I bought the one with the wafer. Hmm, different 'casing' but still, it's the yummy ice-cream slab.

We walked to Merlion Park, and saw a man performing with his snake. The walk is just 5-10 minutes' away depending on your speed.

Finally, we have reached Merlion Park. And I saw this new building. Which I have never seen it before the last time I went to Singapore. Suddenly, I remembered it is Marina Bay Sand Hotel. I didn't go inside due to the lack of time. But I hear the view inside is cool. And it's about SGD20 to enter the top floor.

Then I was looking out for the Merlion. It was not at sight. I thought they relocated it, but I thought that was not possible because that thing was large. Then, I saw a queue. Curious, I went towards it.

It was a free queue.

And when I went in, I saw the Merlion! An artist was using this to combine arts and hotel. Interesting!

Then, we walked to Chinatown. And visited Sri Mariamman Temple. Didn't snap any photos inside because one has to pay to snap. So, we just walked and looked around.

T-shirts for sale along China town.

The famous Buddha Tooth Temple.

Then, we took the train to Little India.

This is a colourful eatery place that serves spicy food! Of course, we didn't go in.

We had a stop to eat an Indian delicacy. This is a common delicacy everywhere. It's just that it's very crunchy and hot, plus I was served with utensils for this.

Then, we visited the oldest Indian temple.

After our Little India walk, we headed back towards our hostel where we placed our luggages till evening. It was the only good thing about the place - putting luggages. No charges. Then, we took the train to the airport. It's so convenient the airport is accessible by train. I wished Malaysia had that for LCCT airport. I take a lot of budget flights from there, and one has to travel 1 hour by bus. If I were to take the train, it would be the fast train to KLIA. Which is super expensive! And also, from KLIA, I have to take a bus to LCCT. How troublesome!

And because orchids are their national flower, these flowers were in abundance in the airport. And they are REAL.

I love this trip to Singapore because I get to see Universal Studios! Yay! For my next trip to Singapore, I would want to visit other new places. Time to google!
