Humility in Travels

I read somewhere that travelling is the best source of education. I find so much truth in this. When I travel, I see new things, experience new moments, and learn my life is so much more fortunate than a lot of people. Sometimes, when I complain about my current problems, I realised that this is nothing. This problem I am experiencing is NOTHING. Do you know what is a real problem?

Having to think of how to find food for your family the next day. Yes, the next day. And I get a monthly income to support me and my dreams to travel. My guide in Lombok, Bali experiences this problem. He relies on his expedition to the mountain to support him. The trek up the mountains is not easy. Once, he had to carry a trekker on his back because the trekker twisted his ankle. That trekker was double his height and weight. He is someone I know. Yesterday, I read in the papers on the works of a Mr. Shafer. His works are capturing the life of people through his lenses. From his photos, he sells them to raise funds for any charity. Recently, it was for the victims in Japan. He is one of the generous souls out there who lives for others. His works portrays the suffering of others. Strangers out there.

Travelling makes me realise how immature my perception is towards my life.
Travelling makes me realise how grateful I ought to be in what I have right now.
Travelling makes me realise paper education is not as glamorous as publicised. It doesn't make you a better person. The titles behind your name doesn't mean anything.
